Fees are calculated on (sale price + shipping charged to buyer) unless otherwise stated by the marketplace.
Returns are modelled as a simple percentage of sale price and reduce expected revenue proportionally. This is a conservative simplification.
VAT toggle models VAT applied to fees (as charged to you), consult your accountant for precise tax treatment.
