Car Boot or Yard Sales are one of the Quick Ways to Make Money
It doesn’t take much time or effort to have a look around your house to see what stuff you have that you no longer need or use and you’ll be surprised at the amount of things you will find.
With the advent of the internet and auction sites such as eBay and Craigslist it’s become easier to sell your unwanted items. But remember before the auction sites appeared there was still a way to sell your goods…and that was in a yard sale or a car boot sale.
There is a saying that one man’s junk is another man’s treasure, but it’s important not to try and offload items that should really be put into the recycling or trash can. Good quality goods that you no longer want could very well be a treasure for someone else and often people will pay reasonable sums of money.
If you set up a sale in your own yard it won’t cost you anything to do it, but if you take your goods along to a car boot sale or an organised event then you normally have to pay the event organiser a small fee for allowing you to have a space or a ‘pitch’ from where to sell your stuff. These costs can usually be recouped fairly quickly.
It’s worth putting a bit of effort into the preparation and presentation of the items you are going to sell, it’s no different than a store keeper selling goods in their shop. Make it look nice and people will be more likely to buy from you and it can be good fun too.
Some people will buy from you and then resell ‘your stuff’ on their own stand and it’s not unheard of to make a lot of money doing this, so next time you go to a yard sale or a car boot sale have a look at some of the items for sale and you’ll soon see that they can be quick ways to make money.
