One of the more obvious ways to make money on the net is to have your own website from which you can promote affiliate products and services, sell advertising space, host adverts for Google, PayDotCom, Clickbank and many others. It is also a great place from which to sell your own products.
Making money with a website is not that difficult but the majority of people that work online don’t actually manage to make any money at all, despite the fact that they may spend a lot of time and money and work really hard.
There are some basic rules to follow which will make it easier and will help speed up the process and eventually help you increase the earnings from your site. It’s all about having a site that is easy to use, is both optimised for the search engines but also provides compelling reading for your visitors so that they come back time and time again.
A good place to start is with the name of your website, which is called a ‘Domain Name’. If you’re stuck for ideas for a name then a good tool I use is called Name Boy – which will provide you with lots of suggestions.
You need to choose your Website Hosting carefully. It doesn’t need to be complicated and it certainly doesn’t need to be expensive. I have a reseller account which I use to help set up brand new websites and help people new to Internet Marketing. Take a look at Hosted Sites for more details.
The layout of your website is very important, you need to try to maintain your readers interest without having complicated graphics or page layouts. Website Graphics play a key part in the design and it’s important to keep it simple.
Having good Site Content is the next important step. There’s no point in having a nicely laid out site if the information you provide is poorly written or doesn’t have any benefit to the reader. A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself if you would be interested in reading article. Always try to give added value because your Reader is spending their time with you if not always their money!
